Alumni from the College of Arts and Sciences are invited to a special Homecoming open house on Saturday, January 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Banquet Room B of the Oakland Center.
A
social hour from 11 a.m. to noon will allow you to mix and mingle with
former classmates and current and past professors from all of the
College’s home departments. Following the social hour, from 12-1 p.m., a
series of informative and entertaining “mini-lectures” will be
presented by CAS emeriti faculty. Speakers will include:
-- Judy Brown (Anthropology): The History of Oakland
-- Don Iodice (Modern Languages): A Second Language: Why You Should Learn to Parler Francais, Deutsch Sprechen, or Hablar Espaňol
-- Michael Gillespie (Theatre): The Alexander Technique: A Moving Experience
-- Brian
Murphy (English): For Fifty Years We Have Loved the Beatles, Yeah,
Yeah, Yeah. . . But Why?: A Few Thoughts on the Cause of the Impact and
Its Unique Length
